Sponsor

The Quo Vadis? Future World Art Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by Qhantom Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the “Sponsor”), whose registered office is 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, Delaware 19713. Questions may be sent to [email protected].

Discord, X, Cloudflare, Google, and any other platform used to host, promote, display, or administer part of the Contest are not sponsors of, and are not responsible for, the Contest.

02

Eligibility

The Contest is open worldwide to individuals who are legally permitted to participate and who meet the minimum age required to use Discord in their country or region. Because official entries are submitted through Discord, no person below Discord's applicable minimum age may enter.

An entrant who has not reached the age of legal majority where they live must have permission from a parent or legal guardian before entering. Sponsor may require the parent or guardian to confirm consent, complete winner-verification documents, and accept a prize on the minor's behalf.

Employees, officers, directors, contractors directly involved in administering or judging the Contest, and members of their immediate households are not eligible. The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is not open where Sponsor cannot lawfully provide a prize or service.

An entrant may submit only one official entry. Sponsor may request reasonable documentation to verify age, residence, identity, ownership, and compliance with these Official Rules.

03

04

How to enter

  1. Read these Official Rules and the Contest page.
  2. Join the Qhantom Discord through the official invitation.
  3. Post one official entry in the designated Quo Vadis? contest forum before the deadline.
  4. Include all required entry components listed below.

No payment or purchase is required. Entries outside the designated forum, after the deadline, or in excess of the one-entry limit may be rejected.

05

Required entry components

Each entry must include:

  • one visual submission artifact;
  • a title;
  • a one-to-three-sentence description;
  • a broad medium or workflow label;
  • the entrant's public artist name or handle; and
  • optionally, one credit or portfolio link.

The visual artifact may be:

  • one still image;
  • one animation or video up to eight seconds;
  • one comic or storyboard page;
  • one concept sheet or moodboard; or
  • one screenshot or capture from a game, interactive work, music piece, physical model, or written world.

Optional supporting material may include longer descriptions, music, playable prototypes, writing excerpts, process videos, or portfolio links. It does not replace the required visual artifact.

06

Theme and media

Show us a future world you'd actually want to live in.

Entries may show struggle, ruins, scars, or rebuilding if the overall vision is ultimately life-giving and worth living in.

There is one open category. Traditional art, digital art, 3D, photography, collage, animation, mixed media, experimental formats, AI-assisted work, and AI-generated work are permitted. AI is an optional workflow, not a requirement. Entries compete under the same prompt and rules regardless of medium.

Entrants should identify their broad medium or workflow. Detailed tools, prompts, and process notes are optional unless Sponsor requests information to verify eligibility, originality, or rights.

07

Originality, rights, and content

By entering, each entrant represents that:

  • they created the entry or control all rights needed to submit it;
  • the entry does not plagiarize or unlawfully copy another person's work;
  • the entry does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights;
  • incorporated third-party material is properly licensed or lawfully used;
  • the entry does not impersonate or materially misrepresent another person;
  • the entry complies with these rules and applicable platform rules; and
  • information supplied with the entry is truthful.

Entries may not contain:

  • stolen or plagiarized work;
  • hateful, harassing, or discriminatory content;
  • explicit sexual or NSFW content;
  • graphic gore or gratuitous violence;
  • illegal content;
  • direct political-campaign propaganda;
  • copyrighted characters, logos, or intellectual property used in a manner that creates legal issues;
  • impersonation or misrepresentation;
  • content that violates Discord, X, or Qhantom community rules; or
  • material created primarily to attack, disrupt, or sabotage the Contest or its theme.
08

Voting and selection

No official voting occurs while submissions are open. After eligibility review, all valid entries become eligible for voting at the same announced time.

For Discord rounds, an eligible voter is one individual using one authentic Discord account that complies with Discord's age and account rules and is a member of the Qhantom Discord when voting. Each person may vote through only one account. For the X final, voting is conducted through one native poll vote per X account, subject to the platform's rules and Sponsor's anti-fraud review.

Round 1, Discord: Each eligible voter may cast up to five votes. The 16 eligible entries with the highest valid vote totals advance. If 16 or fewer eligible entries remain, all advance. A tie for the final advancing position is resolved under the tie-break rule below.

Round 2, Discord: Each eligible voter may cast up to three votes among semifinalists. The four entries with the highest valid vote totals advance. If fewer than four semifinalists remain eligible, all advance. A tie for the final advancing position is resolved under the tie-break rule below.

Final, X: The four finalists are posted publicly on X. A native X poll provisionally selects the $1,000 USD Grand Prize recipient, subject to verification.

Sponsor may disregard or remove votes associated with bots, duplicate or coordinated fake accounts, vote buying, automated activity, manipulation, harassment, or conduct that undermines a fair result. Sponsor's reasonable good-faith determination on eligibility, fraud, moderation, vote validity, and enforcement is final.

If a tie affects advancement or a prize, a Sponsor-appointed panel will use responsiveness to the prompt, specificity of the world, creative vision, execution, and emotional impact. If entries remain tied, responsiveness to the prompt controls.

09

Prizes

  • Grand Prize: $1,000 USD, awarded to the eligible final X poll winner after verification.
  • Best Process Share: $100 USD, selected by a Sponsor-appointed panel from eligible process material submitted with or linked from the official entry before the submission deadline.

Best Process Share is selected independently of public voting using these weighted criteria: clarity and usefulness of the process explanation (30%); evidence of experimentation, iteration, or problem-solving (30%); connection between process decisions and the final world (25%); and insight or educational value for other creators (15%). If scores are tied, the higher experimentation, iteration, or problem-solving score controls; if still tied, the tie-break rule in Section 8 applies.

Sponsor may award optional non-cash honorable mentions. Prizes are not transferable. Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary. Winners are responsible for applicable taxes, reporting obligations, fees, and costs. Sponsor may require tax or payment documentation where legally required.

10

Winner notification and verification

Potential winners may be contacted through Discord, X, email if supplied, or another contact method reasonably associated with the entry. A potential winner is not confirmed until Sponsor verifies eligibility and compliance.

Any September 12 result announcement is provisional. A cash-prize recipient becomes a confirmed winner only after completing the verification required by this section.

A potential winner must respond within seven calendar days after the first notification attempt. Sponsor may require proof of identity, age, residence, ownership, tax or payment information, and eligibility, liability, parental-consent, or publicity documents where lawful and reasonably necessary.

If a potential winner cannot be contacted, misses the response deadline, declines, fails verification, or violates these rules, Sponsor may disqualify that person and select an alternate using the applicable voting results or tie-break criteria.

11

Ownership and limited license

Artists retain ownership of their entries.

By entering, the entrant grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, display, publish, and distribute the entry, with reasonable credit, solely for Contest administration, voting, promotion, the Qhantom website gallery and Futures Field, finalist or winner announcements, archival display, and Contest recaps.

Sponsor will not sell, merchandise, claim ownership of, use as official branding, or commercially reuse an entry outside those Contest and gallery purposes without separate artist permission. Public artist name, title, description, workflow label, credit link, and entry may be displayed publicly.

12

Privacy

Sponsor may collect an entrant's Discord handle, public artist name, entry materials, voluntarily supplied contact information, and information reasonably needed to verify eligibility, administer voting, deliver prizes, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

Public entry information may remain visible in Discord, on X, in announcements, and in the Qhantom gallery or archive. Non-public identity, eligibility, tax, and payment information will be used only for Contest administration, legal compliance, fraud prevention, and prize delivery, and will not be publicly displayed except with consent or as required by law.

Entrants should never post a home address, government or tax ID, private payment information, or other sensitive information in a public channel. Sponsor will provide a private verification method.

13

Conduct and technical issues

Sponsor may disqualify an entrant who tampers with entry or voting, uses automated or fraudulent activity, harasses participants, disrupts the Contest, provides false information, or violates these rules.

Sponsor is not responsible for platform outages, deleted posts, transmission failures, corrupted files, incompatible formats, account restrictions, or technical events outside reasonable control. If fraud, technical failure, platform changes, legal requirements, or other circumstances materially impair the Contest, Sponsor may pause, modify, suspend, or cancel the affected portion and will use reasonable efforts to preserve a fair outcome among eligible entries.

14

Release and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, entrants agree that Sponsor and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents are not responsible for losses arising from participation or acceptance or use of a prize, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these rules limits rights that cannot be waived.

15

Governing law and disputes

These Official Rules and the Contest are governed by New York law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in New York, unless applicable law requires otherwise. This does not remove mandatory rights that cannot lawfully be waived in an entrant's place of residence.

Before filing a claim, a participant should contact [email protected]and allow Sponsor a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally.

16

Results and rules availability

These Official Rules will remain available on this page. Results and announcements may be published on the Contest page, in the Qhantom Discord, on Qhantom's X account, and in the Futures Field gallery.
